THE 7TH ANNUAL MISTER SINGAPORE PAGEANT
TO BE HELD AT THE PAVILION ON MAY 20
The Pavilion @ Far East Square, May 20, 2006 - On Saturday, May 20, 2006, during one of the year’s most exciting events, twenty-four of Singapore’s most handsome men will compete for the MISTER SINGAPORE 2006 title.
Over $ 65,000 in cash and prizes awaits our new MISTER SINGAPORE, who will also go on to represent Singapore and play host to more than 30 countries at the first annual MISTER INTERNATIONAL pageant to be held in Singapore from October 1 to 8, 2006.
Perhaps for the first time in any male pageant history, a contestant with hearing disability has been selected to compete in the country’s most celebrated and prestigious male pageant. This decision by the judges during the auditions surprised many people in the male pageant industry as it is unprecedented for a person with disability to be selected for a beauty pageant. Mister Bedok Singapore Terence Thaddeus Lew used sign language with an interpreter to get past the question and answer segment during the audition. Terence is a 27-year-old senior creative/software designer who is also a triathletic and mountain climber.

Throughout the two-hour event, the contestants will compete in three categories: swimwear, evening wear and interview. During these competitions, the Top Five Finalists will be selected before the crowning. MISTER SINGAPORE 2005 Raphael Yang will crown his successor at the conclusion of the pageant, before an estimated viewing audience of more than 500, followed by worldwide viewing audience via MisterSingapore.Org, the Mister Singapore Organization Web site.
