On October 9, 2009, a star-studded panel of judges chose Mister Bishan Singapore Nelson Lee, 22, as MISTER SINGAPORE 2009 at the 10th Annual MISTER SINGAPORE pageant from Zirca.
Nelson was born in Singapore but migrated to Melbourne, Australia when he was 10. He was also a national swimmer and tennis player with the Victoria All Boys team. Due to national service, he returned to his birth place to serve his duties. After completing his degree in Biomedical Science from Bradford University, Nelson worked as a scientist and hopes to advance in the field of Biomedical Research and Development.
Voted one of 50 most gorgeous men in Singapore last year, Nelson also models part-time. In his free time, he works as a swimming instructor.
As MISTER SINGAPORE 2009, Nelson will work with the Mister Singapore Organization’s official cause, Action for AIDS, to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS by forging relationships with organizations committed to research and education. He will also travel around the world as a representative of the Mister Singapore Organization, as well as representing Singapore at the MISTER INTERNATIONAL 2009 pageant on December 19 in Taiwan, ROC.
