As President of the Mister Singapore Organization, producer of the MISTER SINGAPORE and MISTER INTERNATIONAL pageants, Alan Sim oversees all business transactions and is responsible for the production of the pageants each year. Alan is also a mentor and a role model to the two Titleholders, as they travel the world on behalf of the Mister Singapore Organization.

Alan founded the Mister Singapore Organization in 2000. In the years since, Alan’s goal to break the stereotypes typically associated with male pageants and to boost the viewer demographics of all two pageants has paid off.

Alan works closely with the Mister Singapore Organization sponsors and media in maximizing the organization’s potential. The MISTER SINGAPORE pageants have garnered great success with “out of box” cross-promotional concepts conceived by Alan and the sponsors. For example, the MISTER SINGAPORE contestants and current Titleholders have been featured on MediaCorp’s “Project Generation Y” and The Straits Times Razor TV’s “Grooming MISTER SINGAPORE for success in the MISTER INTERNATIONAL pageant”. Both MISTER SINGAPORE and MISTER INTERNATIONAL Titleholders are also constantly interviewed by both local and foreign media on the roles of modern men. “These are real men who aren’t afraid to show the “softer” side of them.” Alan adds, “I am sure some men might not agree with their views on certain issues, but it’s important to show that we’ve changed with the times.”

Alan credits part of the company’s growing success to the men who participate in the MISTER SINGAPORE and MISTER INTERNATIONAL pageants. As representatives of the Mister Singapore Organization, the Titleholders represent the company at home and abroad and Alan is often by their side.

The Titleholders’ international travel would leave them with a deep appreciation and understanding of the world’s cultural diversity, as well as its commonality. The MISTER INTERNATIONAL pageant in particular provides an opportunity for men of the world to celebrate their cultural differences and achieve greater understanding of each other.

Alan formerly held the MISTER YOUNG SINGAPORE 1996 title. He represented Singapore in the MISTER YOUNG INTERNATIONAL 1997 pageant in Puerto Rico and emerged First Runner-up, as well as winning the “Best in Swimwear,” “Mister Amity” and “Mister Cooperation” awards.

Alan currently resides in Punggol, Singapore.
